Commentary by Our Founder & President

 

Greetings,

It is with great pleasure and pain that after 10 years, we launch Ryan’s Village USA. The pleasure stems from being able to finally give birth to a dream that has actively labored in my heart, mind and spirit for a decade. The pain stems from fact that with all that I am or will be; I still miss and love Ryan dearly! Not a day goes by that Ryan is not on my mind. Any parent that has lost a child at any age knows the pain I still feel a decade later. It is a pain that doesn’t go away; we just learn to live with it. A wise mentor of mine named Fred Smith shared some wisdom with me earlier in 2007 the year of both his and Ryan’s passing. “We must learn to find the good in bad situations.” For quite awhile after Ryan passed, I prayed and wondered how could I ever find good in this, the worst situation of my life. Little did I know; how powerful and profound this bit of Fred’s wisdom would help me move forward during the most difficult time in my life. It gave me hope and hope brings possibility.

By the grace of God and a vision from the Holy Spirit, Ryan’s Village USA is the answer to my extensive praying and wondering. While I cannot do anything for Ryan; in his memory I can do something for youth and young adults throughout our nation and around the world. There is no greater need in the world today than the intellectual and spiritual development of youth and young adults. Ryan’s Village USA will be the vehicle that allows fulfillment of a dream that is far beyond me! Ryan’s Village USA will tackle and seek to solve problems that have been pushed aside for far too long.

 

Ryan’s Village USA will provide practical steps that lead to the successful facilitation of community connection, training and collaboration across our country and around the world. Ryan’s Village USA will bring communities and generations together and bridge the communication and understanding gaps that we face today.

In March of 2018 at the request of Costa Rica President, I traveled to Costa Rica with John Maxwell and 249 other John Maxwell Team members and leaders to facilitate Round Table discussions to launch Transformation in Costa Rica. At the end of the our stay in the country, Costa Rica was equipped with 15,000 facilitators.

The insights gained through the Costa Rica experience provided a culminating revelation as how Ryan’s Village will develop and replicate young leaders across America and the world. My cumulative developed skills have uniquely equipped me to lead and overcome the challenges and fulfill the objectives of Ryan’s Village, USA.

As we begin the Ryan’s Village USA journey, I openly ask for your prayers and support as this challenge is of such a magnitude, that our objectives can only come to fruition through supernatural blessings of God.
